Next NFP Basic Class at St Lukes Catholic Church in Indianapolis beginning on May 3rd. See Local Schedule for details!

What is NFP? CCL of Greater Indianapolis promotes and teaches natural family planning (NFP) as a means of birth regulation. A couple uses the woman's natural signs to detect fertility during her cycle. Unlike un-natural forms of birth control, NFP is safe, healthy, effective and immediately reversible. NFP is used with great success by couples trying to conceive. For more details read about the Advantages of NFP. How do I find a class nearby? We offer courses in several locations in the greater Indianapolis area. Select Find a Class from the Menu to locate and register for a CCL course.select Local Schedule to view a listing of Indianapolis area classes.  If you cannot find a course near you, consider taking a Virtual Course or the Home Study Course. The course is taught in three class sessions, held one month apart, each class lasting approximately 2 1/2 hours.

Is this the Rhythm Method? No! CCL teaches the Sympto-Thermal Method (STM) of NFP which measures the daily waking body temperature and understanding of cervical mucus to predict fertility. STM has been proven to be 99% effective in postponing pregnancy! The Rhythm Method relied on estimating fertility based on previous cycle history. It provided no awareness for women with irregular cycles and has not been taught since the 1960s.  What is included in the course cost? The course fee includes three class sessions, "The Art of NFP Student Guide", a basal digital thermometer, charts and all materials required to start using the method. It also includes personal counseling, a one year membership in CCL and their bi-monthly newsletter, "Family Foundations". Please contact teaching couple for the current class price.

What’s wrong with hormonal contraceptives?  Hormonal contraceptives have several side effects including menstrual difficulties, bone density loss, cancers, tumors, heart disease, and depression. To learn more about the dangers of the pill and other forms of birth control see “You Deserve to Know the Truth: Contraception”. What if I need to take an NFP class as a Marriage Requirement? Some marriage preparation programs only require an introduction to NFP and not a full class series. If you are unsure, contact us at nfp@nfpindy.org before registering online.   If you are part of the "One in Christ" marriage preparation program, contact them at info@OICindy.com before registering for a class series.
